Accountability

Corrections Policy

Bengal Gazette is committed to accuracy. When we make mistakes, we correct them promptly, transparently, and prominently.

Our Commitment

Bengal Gazette applies rigorous verification standards before publication. Every factual claim is supported by documented evidence. Despite these standards, errors can occur. When they do, we correct them without delay and without attempting to conceal that a correction was made.

Types of Corrections

Factual Correction

A material error of fact — incorrect names, figures, dates, or events. The article is updated and a correction notice appended clearly stating what was changed and when.

Clarification

Where a statement was accurate but potentially misleading. A clarification note is added to the article.

Retraction

Where an article cannot be corrected because the central premise was wrong. The article is removed and replaced with a retraction notice explaining why.

How to Request a Correction
